Join us for an entertaining and informative evening with Brian Malow who draws on two decades of stand up comedy to help scientists communicate better with the public. In a presentation that promises to both amuse and educate, Brian will offer advice on a range of topics including stage presence, connecting with audiences, using analogies and using PowerPoint. He currently works in science communications at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Cash bar available. Fee: $15. Pre-registration is required.

Brian Malow - Science Comedian/Science Communicator

Brian Malow is Earth's premier science comedian (self-proclaimed). He has worked with the NSF, AAAS, NASA, NIST, ACS, AGU, and many other acronyms. He has produced science videos for Time Magazine's website and audio essays for Neil deGrasse Tyson's radio show. Malow was a blogger for Scientific American, and worked in science communications at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. He has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and co-hosted Hacking the Planet and The Truth About Twisters on The Weather Channel. Brian currently performs and gives science communication talks and workshops for scientists.
